In a significant development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the official schedule for the upcoming Champions Trophy. The tournament begins on February 19, with Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the opening encounter at National Stadium in Karachi. The high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan will take place in Dubai on February 23.
Eight top-tier ODI teams- India, Pakistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh and Afghanistan- will participate in the marquee event, which will be conducted across four venues- Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Dubai. India will play their matches in Dubai, while the remaining teams' group-stage games will be played in Pakistan.

The participating teams have been divided in two groups. While India and Pakistan are in group A along with New Zealand and Bangladesh, arch-rivals Australia and England are placed in group B with South Africa and giant-killers Afghanistan.
