Trouble For India! Coach Gautam Gambhir Leaves Australia Due To 'Personal' Reason

In latest developments, India's head coach Gautam Gambhir has returned to India during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. As per the report, Gambhir will be missing the two-day pink ball warm-up game in Canberra starting November 30.

Gambhir has flown back due to a "personal emergency", however he will be joining the Indian side in Adelaide before the Pink Ball Test starting December 6. It is understood that Gambhir has sought permission from BCCI brass with regards to his return.

"He left with his family on early Tuesday morning for India. It is an unavoidable personal emergency. He will be back in Adelaide before the start of the second Test match," a BCCI official told PTI.

Moreover, the Indian team will depart for  Canberra on Wednesday where they are to attend an official reception by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. It is a gesture to welcome the Indian team to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy series.

Gambhir And Bumrah Create History At Perth

India, led by stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah, overwhelmed Australia by 295 runs in the first Test of the BGT at Optus Stadium after being bowled over for 150, India's bowlers, dismissed Australia for 104 to gain a 46-run lead. 

In the second innings, centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (161) and Virat Kohli (100*) helped India reach 487/6, setting an Australia team a challenging target of 534. Bumrah and Siraj exploited Australia's top order on Day 4, and despite Travis Head's 89 and Mitchell Marsh's 47, Australia were bowled out for 238, handing over a comprehensive victory to India.
