In the latest development, Toyota Motors has shown interest in sponsoring Team India’s jersey after Dream11 parted ways with the BCCI. The Parliament passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, following which Dream11 decided to wind up and end its 358 crore partnership with the BCCI.

The Union Government’s new bill prohibits the promotion, advertising, and sponsoring of real money-gaming platforms. Hence, the partnership ended prematurely. Now, with BCCI without a shirt sponsor, Toyota Motors has become the front-runner to replace Dream11. However, little do people know that if the Motor company secures a deal with the Indian team, it won't be their first time sponsoring a cricket jersey.

Toyota already collaborates with Australia, England

Toyota already has tie-ups with Australia and England, and the company already sponsors their jerseys. Last year, the Japanese motor company became the principal sponsor of the England jersey as ECB ended its ties with the previous sponsor, Cinch.

As per the deal, Toyota will sponsor the jerseys of the Men’s, Women’s, and the disabled team, and through it, the ECB will generate considerable revenue. Also, apart from England, the company has sponsored the team kit for the Australian squad. In July 2025, the company extended its contract with Cricket Australia for four-years but with lesser rights package.

India to play without sponsor in Asia Cup if Toyota deal is not agreed

As per reports, Team India is likely to play without a jersey sponsor if the Toyota deal is not completed on time. Another Fintech company has also shown interest in finding a deal with the BCCI, but if nothing is concluded before the tournament commences, India will play without a logo up front.

Reportedly, BCCI is eyeing more money than what they received from Dream11, and that could be a barrier for the new companies.
