In the latest development, Toyota Motors has reportedly shown its interest in sponsoring Team India’s cricket jersey after DREAM11 parted ways with the BCCI. With just a few weeks left for the Asia Cup 2025, Team India is without a jersey sponsor after the recent passing of the 'Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025', which bans real money-gaming platforms.

As per the latest reports, Toyota Motor Corporation and a Fintech start-up has shown interest in becoming the main sponsor of the Indian team jersey. The official tendering process has not started, but reportedly, the BCCI is expecting more money than what they received from DREAM11, reported by NDTV.

What happened between DREAM 11 and BCCI?

DREAM11 joined hands with BCCI in 2023, in a deal worth Rs 358 crore. The deal was set to continue for a longer duration before the regulation was passed. The parliament passed a law that banned money-based online games, as the government felt they affected individuals, and people had psychological distress and financial losses.

As a result of this, the tie ended prematurely and BCCI is now hunting for a new jersey sponsor.

BCCI likely to play Asia Cup without shirt sponsor

As per reports, BCCI might have no choice but to play without a jersey sponsor if they fail to secure a deal before the tournament commence.

Reportedly, Team India’s jersey with DREAM11 sponsor was already printed, but now the team cannot use it for the marquee event. With a couple of weeks left for the Asia Cup, the BCCI still has time to find a sponsor, and Toyota, one of the leading automobile company, has shown its interest in sponsoring Indian jersey.
