The Indian domestic cricket season is set to begin with the Duleep Trophy 2025, starting on August 28. This prestigious red-ball tournament will open with two exciting quarterfinal matches. North Zone will take on East Zone, while Central Zone faces North East Zone. 

The winners of these clashes will move on to the semifinals, where South Zone and West Zone await. Both South and West Zones earned direct entry into the semifinals as last year’s finalists in the 2023 edition. The competition will culminate with the final scheduled from September 11 to 15 in Bengaluru.

Six teams will participate in the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2025 namely North, South, East, West, Central and North East Zone.

Who Are The Captains In Duleep Trophy 2025?

Each zone has announced a strong squad with some of India’s most talented cricketers. Shubman Gill will lead North Zone, while Ishan Kishan captains East Zone. Shardul Thakur heads West Zone, and Tilak Varma takes charge of South Zone. Central Zone will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, and Rongsen Jonathan will guide North East Zone.
