Yashasvi Jaiswal with Indian teammates during winning parade (BCCI)
Yashasvi Jaiswal has extended his appreciation towards fans who showed up in large numbers in Mumbai during Team India’s 2024 T20 World Cup winning parade. Jaiswal, along with the rest of the victorious Indian players performed a parade for fans via an open bus between Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium on July 4, i.e., on the day of their arrival in India.
Back on June 29, Rohit Sharma and co. outclassed South Africa in a hard-fought final to lift the 2024 T20 World Cup title in Barbados.
Yashasvi Jaiswal thanks fans, shares selfie with Rohit
A day after India’s T20 World Cup winning parade in Mumbai, young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal took to his Instagram account to extend his appreciation for fans who showed up in large numbers.
The 22-year-old also shared a highlight reel from the momentous occasion, which included selfies with captain Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav as well as an excerpt from the winning parade in the city’s coastal area.
Unfortunately for Yashasvi Jaiswal, the dashing young opener did not receive a single crack in India’s playing XI during the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.
Regardless, Team India’s historic win over South Africa in the final ended their 11-year ICC title drought, and brought them their first T20 World Cup glory in 17 years and their first in any format in 13 years.
As of now, Yashasvi Jaiswal is prepping himself for India’s upcoming five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The series will launch at the Harare Sports Club on July 6.
