Aamer Jamal wins it for Royals as PAK pacer flashes T20 World Cup potential
Pakistan all-rounder Aamer Jamal delivered a match-winning spell for the Chattogram Royals franchise in match number 19 of the BPL 2025-26 season. The speedster picked up the wickets of Tanzid Hasan and senior man Mushfiqur Rahim in the match against Rajshahi Warriors in Sylhet to claim exceptional figures of 3-23, thus extending his BPL 2025-26 tally to 10 scalps from just five innings at an impressive average of 14.20.
Aamer Jamal’s wicket-taking spree also puts him in contention for a spot in Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad. However, it has been a couple of years since he last played a T20I for the ‘Men in Green’.
Paul Stirling to lead Ireland squad in T20 World Cup 2026
Cricket Ireland named Ireland’s 15-player squad for the upcoming 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka next month. Senior man Paul Stirling will continue to serve the Ireland team as captain, with Lorcan Tucker to continue as his deputy.
Mark Adair, Harry Tector, Josh Little, Curtis Campher are just some of the other star attractions included in the Ireland squad. The Ireland team is placed in Group B of the 2026 T20 World Cup, and will commence their campaign on February 8 with a match against Sri Lanka.

Giving himself a rest before the 2026 T20 World Cup, Cameron Green recently finished the 2025-26 Ashes series with 171 runs in eight innings at an average of 24.42 and with four wickets.
Indian government ensures safety for Bangladesh team in T20 World Cup 2026
As per a TOI report, the Indian government has ensured full security for the Bangladesh cricket team at the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup in India. It is worth noting that the BCB has refused to send the Bangladesh team to India for the tournament citing security concerns, especially after fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was ousted from the KKR franchise for IPL 2026 amidst worsening geo-political tensions between the two countries.
Indian government’s response came after the BCB asked the ICC to relocate Bangladesh’s matches to Sri Lanka.
Gujarat Giants’ Yastika Bhatia ruled out of WPL 2026
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia has been ruled out of the entire WPL 2026 season. The Gujarat Giants Women’s franchise confirmed the development after the 25-year-old sustained a knee injury. Yastika Bhatia was roped in by the Giants for a sum of Rs. 50 lakhs at the WPL 2026 auction a couple of months ago. She was previously released by the Mumbai Indians franchise last year after an underwhelming WPL 2025 season.
