India's T20 No. 1 batter, Suryakumar Yadav, recently shared a cryptic story on his official Instagram account, raising eyebrows amidst ongoing T20I captaincy rumors. 

As India gear up to face Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series starting at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on July 27, speculation about Yadav's potential captaincy has reached a fever pitch.

The World Cup-winning batter is expected to take over the captaincy for the T20I leg of the Sri Lanka tour, according to recent reports. 

Adding fuel to the fire, the 33-year-old posted a story featuring a picture of God accompanied by folded hands emoji, which quickly went viral. 

Fans and spectators have interpreted this post as a subtle hint that SKY has been informed about his new role, using the emoji to express his gratitude for the opportunity.

This development comes on the heels of Rohit Sharma's announcement of his retirement from the shortest format after leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024. Suryakumar is seen as a natural successor to Sharma, bringing his dynamic batting style and leadership qualities to the forefront.

Meanwhile, several World Cup-winning stars, including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rohit Sharma, alongside star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, are set to be rested for the upcoming Sri Lanka series.
