MS Dhoni invests in ride-hailing EV startup, BluSmart [x]
Former Indian captain, MS Dhoni was among the prominent names as BluSmart raised 200 crores in a funding round as told by the firm on Monday, July 15.
The MS Dhoni family office recently made an investment in a Gurugram-based ride hailing EV startup, BluSmart - which was founded in 2019. The company reportedly raised $24 million i.e., 200 crores in their latest funding round.
This is reportedly the third major investment from the cricketer in automobile startups. His other investments include EMotorad who make electric cycles, Cars24 who deal in used car retail, and Khatabook which is a digital lending startup.
BluSmart has said that the recent funding of 200 crores will help them in expanding the EV charging infrastructure and assets in megacities and expand its operations. Other investors in the round include the existing investors, the founders, Sumant Sinha, and responsAbility Investments AG.
The startup, before the investment round was valued at $250 million. Ola, a similar company which was founded 9 years before BluSmart values at over $7 billion.
The ex-India cricketer who recently celebrated his 42nd birthday in the presence of Salman Khan was also seen making his presence felt at the Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding alongside many other cricketers and celebrities.
