Game Over For Ruturaj Gaikwad? Suryakumar Yadav Likely To Replace CSK Captain In SL T20I Series

Ruturaj Gaikwad was one of the most consistent batters for India in the recently held T20I series against Zimbabwe. He showed great flexibility too, batting at different positions, even though he is traditionally an opener. However, with Suryakumar Yadav set to make a comeback in T20I series against Sri Lanka, the report from News18 suggest that Gaikwad will be the one who will face the axe.
Shubman Gill opened the innings in Zimbabwe series alongside Abhishek Sharma in the first couple of matches. From the third game, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal who partnered Gill, and as all three of them also did well, Suryakumar Yadav might replace a batter who batted at 3 or 4 which puts Ruturaj Gaikwad's place in jeopardy.
Along with Suryakumar Yadav, the likes of Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj also might be included in the Sri Lanka T20Is. Hardik Pandya is set to lead the pack while he is likely to miss ODI series due to some personal reasons.
It is Gautam Gambhir's first assignment as Indian team's head coach and all eyes would be on how India goes about its business in T20Is after the retirement of experienced trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja.
