On Monday night, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced seven new inductees into its prestigious Hall of Fame for their remarkable impact on the game. While Matthew Hayden, Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, Daniel Vettori, Sana Mir and Sarah Taylor found themselves on the list, legendary cricketer MS Dhoni was the only Indian player to enter the elite club.

MS Dhoni is the eleventh Indian cricketer to receive the honour from the ICC. As he achieves a huge milestone, here's a list of all Indian cricketers who made it into the list before the captain cool.

Sunil Gavaskar, Bishan Singh Bedi - 2009

Talismanic Indian cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Bishan Singh Bedi were the first-ever duo to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

Apart from scripting numerous wins for the Indian team through their batting and bowling, Gavaskar and Bedi always led the team from the front, showcasing their leadership attributes in the toughest of conditions.

Kapil Dev - 2010

Former skipper and inarguably the greatest Indian all-rounder Kapil Dev became the third player from the country to get into the ICC Hall of Fame. He received the honour in 2010 for his incredible services to the Indian cricket team.

Besides registering prolific numbers with bat and ball, Kapil Dev led India to their first-ever ODI World Cup triumph in 1983, inspiring the generations to come.

Anil Kumble - 2015

Legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble was included in the ICC Hall of Fame back in 2015, seven years after his retirement. Kumble is India's highest-ever wicket-taker and the only bowler from the country to bag all ten wickets in a Test innings.

Rahul Dravid - 2018

Regarded as The Wall, Rahul Dravid became an ICC Hall of Fame inductee in 2018. He is India's second most successful batter in Tests and third highest run-getter in international cricket. Be it Kolkata 2001 or Adelaide 2003-04; Dravid was a part of India's most famous Test victories.

Sachin Tendulkar - 2019

Inarguably the greatest batter of all time, Sachin Tendulkar was formally inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2019. The talismanic cricketer holds multiple iconic cricketing records, including the most Test appearances and runs, the most international runs and centuries.

Vinoo Mankad - 2021

The father figure of Indian cricket, Vinoo Mankad made it into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2021, two years after Tendulkar's inclusion. One of the finest all-rounders of his time, Mankad played a pivotal role in making India a force to reckon with, especially in Test cricket.

Diana Edulji, Virender Sehwag - 2023

Legendary Women's cricketer Diana Edulji and former opener Virender Sehwag were India's Hall of Fame inductees in 2023. While Edulji bamboozled the best of the batters with her bowling, Sehwag used to decimate the attacks, emerging as India's match-winner across formats.

Neetu David - 2024

Iconic left-arm spinner Neetu David was India's only Hall of Fame inductee in 2024. A master of guile and flight, David proved to be a nightmare for the batters in limited overs cricket.

MS Dhoni - 2025

The latest Indian to make it into the ICC Hall of Fame, MS Dhoni is the only Indian captain to win the WorldT20, the ICC World Cup and the Champions Trophy. The greatest finisher in white-ball cricket, Dhoni helped India attain stellar heights during his captaincy stint, referred to as the golden age of Indian cricket.
