In a move that has excited cricket fans, especially the Australian fans, the Down Under's formidable trio of fast bowlers has been added to the supplementary lists for the upcoming BBL 14. Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood might be seen as the potential wrecker-in-chiefs for their respective franchises in the upcoming season of BBL.
While it's unlikely that all three will feature in the tournament due to their demanding international schedule, their inclusion on the lists opens the door for potential appearances, should circumstances permit.
Australia's Big Three Set To Light Up BBL 14?
Notably, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc have been signed by the Sydney Sixers, while Pat Cummins will continue to be part of the Sydney Thunder's supplementary list. Cummins made his mark last season with the Thunder, taking an impressive 2-28 against the Hobart Hurricanes. However, it's been a while since fans have seen Starc don the Sixers jersey as his last appearance dates back to December 2014 in BBL's third season.
Meanwhile, Hazlewood also adds to the excitement as the pacer showcased his talent with the Sixers in their triumphant BBL 09 championship victory over the Melbourne Stars. His best bowling figure of 3/16 in BBL came when he wrecked Adelaide Strikers' back in 2014.
Though the big three superstars of Australian cricket have not been seen appearing for BBL matches frequently, the trio have participated in the Indian Premier League (IPL) actively. For the unaware, Josh Hazlewood was the most sought-after Australian cricketer who has been tossed for the highest bid in IPL 2025 mega auction as RCB roped him in for INR 12.50 crore.
Mitchell Starc who was the most expensive buy in IPL 2024 for KKR was sold to DC for INR 11.75 crore. Meanwhile, Pat Cummins was retained by SRH for a whopping INR 18 crore.
