Shreyanka Patil wrote a farewell post to a cricketer who defined her childhood. And in doing so, she spoke for a whole generation that grew up watching Kohli live, breathe and bleed red-ball cricket.

In her emotional Instagram post, Shreyanka said what many are still struggling to put into words.

“It’s been 24 hours and watching people post on Instagram and X has only made me more emotional… not being able to watch Virat Kohli in whites again is something very hard to take. I honestly can’t express what I’m feeling right now,” wrote Shreyanka.

For her, this isn’t just about a player hanging up his boots. It is about losing the face of Test cricket. The guy who brought fire to the longest format. The guy who made you feel every moment, the roars, the stares, the screams, the cover drives that felt like art.
