Shubman Gill continued his love affair with Ahmedabad, as he lighted up the Narendra Modi Stadium with a stellar century against England in the ongoing third ODI against England on February 12. The 25-year-old reached his seventh ODI hundred in just 95 balls. He punished England’s bowlers with his exquisite stroke play in front of a roaring home crowd.

Shubman Gill's had early work to do after skipper Rohit Sharma fell cheaply for mere 1 run. Stepping up to the challenge, he took charge of the innings, and countered England’s pacers with a mix of elegance and aggression. During his knock, Gill also etched his name in history, becoming the fastest batter to reach 2500 ODI runs. After his century fans flooded Twitter with admiration and hailed him as the future of Indian batting.

With his century, the Indian vice-captain has now notched up a ton in all three formats at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Gill also played a crucial role as he constructed 116-runs partnership with Virat Kohli. It is important to mention that Kohli also played an important knock and made a well-deserved half-century. 

 At the time of writing this article, he eventually departed after scoring 112 off 102 balls. India are at 249 runs at the loss of three wickets. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are batting at the crease.
