AWFUL! BIZARRE!! Brain fade momen!!! Words fall short to desribe the latest dismissal of Steve Smith. The Australian team is currently playing agains Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the two match series. The ODI World Champions are in a huge spot of bother in the game.

Notably, Sri Lanka won the toss for the game and opted to field first. The home team struggled at the beginning with their batting as wickets kept falling and there was not much resistance noticed by the batters. However, the skipper Charith Asalanka put his hand up and played an excellent knock of 127 runs from 126 deliveries to rescue his team.

Before being bundled out Sri Lanka posted a competitive 214 runs on the board. With a relatively strong batting line-up, it was expected that Australia would chase it down rather easily. But that did not turn out to be the case.

Smith Plays A Rash Shot As Wellalage Removes Him From The Crease

The Sri Lankan bowlers put the pressure on the Australian team and picked up two early wickets. At this stage, Steve Smith walked out into the crease and with from he was carrying from the Test series, it was expected that he will bail the team out of the crunch situation.

However, at Smith's personal score of 12 from 17 deliveries, the marquee batter fell to a careless and awful shot. It was full delivery bowled by Dunith Wellalage at the off and middle stump line that went in with the angle rather than turning. Smith tried to manufacture an across the line shot over deep mid-wicket but missed the ball completely. The ball crashed into the stumps and ended Smith's stay in the middle.

Since the departure of Smith, the Aussies have slumped deeper into the ridge and it is looking tough for them to win this game.
