In a recent news, Team India have made strategic changes to their playing XI for the third and final ODI against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium on February 12. The star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is notably absent from the lineup. Talking about the toss, England have won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Why Is Ravindra Jadeja Not Playing Today?
Ravindra Jadeja, who has been in sensational form throughout the series, has been rested for this match. At the toss, captain Rohit Sharma confirmed that the decision was made to manage the workload of the premier all-rounder. Jadeja played a crucial role in India’s dominance in the series. The CSK star claimed six wickets in the first two ODIs.
Along with Jadeja, India have also rested Varun Chakravarthy and Mohammed Shami, bringing in Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, and Arshdeep Singh as replacements. These changes have been made an opportunity for India’s bench strength to step up while ensuring important players remain fresh.
India’s Commanding Lead In The Series
India have already sealed the series with two successive four-wicket victories in Nagpur and Cuttack. Rohit Sharma has led from the front and delivered match-winning performances with the bat in the second ODI. With the series in the bag, India will now look to complete a 3-0 whitewash, while England will be desperate to turn their fortunes around and avoid another defeat.
