Shubman Gill To Hold First Press Conference As India Captain On June 5; Gautam Gambhir To Join

On Friday, May 30, India A locked horns against England Lions at the Lawrence Ground In Kent, England. Several star players, who are part of the squad for five-match Test series, are participating in the ongoing match, while rest of the squad will travel to England after the conclusion of IPL.

Meanwhile, in the significant development, there are reports that new India skipper Shubman Gill will hold a press conference on June 5 alongside head coach Gautam Gambhir. Further, the report mentioned that the two will leave for England following the presser. The news was disseminated by journalist Abhishek Tripathi.

 "On June 5, new Test captain Shubman Gill @ShubmanGill and coach Gautam Gambhir @GautamGambhir will hold a joint press conference for the first time in Mumbai. It is from here that the team will leave for England," he tweeted.

Shubman Gill Likely To Address Team's Approach For England Tour

The upcoming tour will mark the first series in the new WTC cycle and the runners-up are looking to script history against England. Notably, 2007 was the last time when India beat England in England in Test series. 

Talking about the press conference, it is expected that Gill might shed light on the opening pair for the five-match tour and also comment on availability of Jasprit Bumrah, who is not expected to play all five Test matches. Notably, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, during the squad announcement, stated that Bumrah's workload will be managed during the England series and he is expected to play three matches.
