Shreyas Iyer has been the talk of the town since he was omitted from BCCI's central contract along with Ishan Kishan. He was accused of prioritising IPL over Ranji Trophy and Test cricket as he failed to participate in the Ranji Trophy Quarter Final for Mumbai.

Shreyas Iyer was dropped from the Indian team after the second Test against England arguably because of his poor performances. However, some stated that he has back pain and that's why he has been rested.

However, Nitin Patel, the head of Sports Science and Medicine at NCA declared him fit in an email, and it was expected that he will play Quarter Final against Baroda. That didn't happen and he instead went to KKR academy to get his treatment which brought him a lot of criticism and he was eventually left out of annual contract.

Things have changed quite a lot though after that shock removal, as Shreyas Iyer played both semifinal and final in their title-winning campaign. It was also revealed that he was indeed suffering from back problem before the Quarter-final and he fully subscribes to BCCI's policy of prioritising Test cricket over IPL and other formats.

So, according to the report from RevSportz, BCCI is happy with how Shreyas Iyer has went about his business after the contract controversy and is likely to get back his annual contract which he truly deserves after his exploits at number 4 in World Cup 2023.

Shreyas Iyer also scored a valiant 95 in the Ranji Final and seems to be back in form ahead of IPL 2024 where he will lead Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after missing the previous edition.
