Shafali Verma is one of the most fearsome hitters of the cricket ball in the women's game and she is unleashing all her might in WPL 2024. In the final league game, she smashed 71 off 37 balls and took apart Gujarat Giants bowling attack with seven fours and five sixes.

Gujarat Giants won the toss and batted first but lost their skipper in the very first over which was followed by flurry of wickets. Eventually GG managed to score 126 on the back of a gritty knock from Bharati Fulmali but it was never going to be enough against a powerful DC batting line-up.

DC lost captain Meg Lanning and Alice Capsey early, but Shafali Verma did not shy away from playing her natural game as he plundered GG bowlers all over the park. One of the fascinating battle was between Shafali and Gardner. The Aussie is one of the finest all-rounders in world cricket but Shafali did not let her settle as he hammered two sixes in her first over to leave GG high and dry.
