The Rohit Sharma-led India unit had a stupendous outing against Pakistan in the Super-4 clash at Colombo on Monday, and now are all set to take on Sri Lanka on the subsequent day. After a tight schedule due to Colombo rain, the Men in Blue are forced to play two ODI affairs on back-to-back days, meaning a few core players could be rested for Tuesday's match.
As confirmed by the BCCI, Shreyas Iyer, who missed the INDO-PAK clash due to last-minute back spasms, hasn't recovered yet and could miss the Super-4 clash against Sri Lanka.
"Shreyas Iyer is feeling better but is yet to fully recover from back spasm. He has been adviced rest by the BCCI Medical Team and has not travelled with the team to the stadium today for India's Super 4 match against Sri Lanka," BCCI said.
Meanwhile, OneCricket understands that there would be no change in India's batting lineup; however, a couple of bowlers could be rested. Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav could get some rest to make places for Mohammed Shami and Axar Patel.
Last night's India versus Pakistan game, which went into the reserve day, saw the Men in Blue thrash their arch-rivals by 228 runs thanks to centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul and a breathtaking five-wicket haul by Kuldeep Yadav.
At the moment, India are leading the points table of the Super-4 of the Asia Cup 2023, and a victory against the Lankan Lions on Tuesday would confirm their place in the final.
India's Predicted XI vs Sri Lanka
