India beat Pakistan by 228 runs [X.com]
In an anti-climax, the much-hyped India-Pakistan Super 4 encounter in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 turned out to be a one-sided affair as Rohit Sharma and Co. notched a comfortable win.
Firstly, India's top-order batters looted runs, as Virat Kohli and KL Rahul struck marvellous centuries, respectively and then Kuldeep Yadav bamboozled Pakistan's batting line-up as they tried chasing a mammoth 358.
Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has lashed out at Babar Azam and his troops after a record-breaking 228-run defeat against India on Monday.
Apart from a crumbling batting performance, they were handicapped with the loss of bowlers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, who suffered niggles.
Taking to social media profile 'X', Afridi congratulated India for outplaying Pakistan and also Virat Kohli, while highlighting reason's behind Azam XI's loss.
India played as 1 on the field, batting & bowling - Afridi tweets
“Winning/losing is part of competing, but not putting up a fight, not showing intent to win is just poor. Exactly what I was referring to in my previous tweet. India played as #1 on the field, batting & bowling. Congrats @imVkohlion on achieving another dream milestone of ODI runs and well-crafted by you and KL Rahul Chin up boys, you can do better than this, next match.
Meanwhile, India have moved to the top of the points table having gained two points, while Pakistan have moved down to third position.
