After a lean patch between 2019 and 2022, Former India captain Virat Kohli has been in scintillating form with the bat, scoring centuries at will.

Last evening against Pakistan, Kohli slammed his 47th One-Day International (ODI) century, taking him an inch closer to Sachin Tendulkar's tally of 49 50-over tons. Former Pakistan bowler and long-time rival of Tendulkar, Waqar Younis, explained that Kohli will finish with ODI centuries beyond anyone else imagination.

During his unbeaten 122-run knock last evening, Kohli also became the fastest batter to reach 13,000 ODI runs, taking only 277 innings as opposed to Tendulkar's 321.

Speaking on Star Sports, the former Pakistan coach also stated the differences between Kohli, Tendulkar and others.

Here's what Waqar Younis said

"The difference between him and other players, even Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar, when he finished, had 49 hundreds (ODIs). I can promise you Virat is a long way from finishing his career or being done with cricket. He will end up with a lot more (hundreds) than anybody can think."

Apart from Kohli, other batters like KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill also displayed form against Pakistan after collectively flopping in their Group A tie earlier. Team India will be in action today as they meet co-hosts Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, where the winner will almost be certain for the finals.
