Shanto To Lead As Bangladesh Announce Strong Squad For T20 World Cup 2024

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has unveiled a strong 15-player squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Najmul Hossain Shanto, who recently led the Bangladesh team to an emphatic 4-1 series win over Zimbabwe at home, is set to continue as team skipper at the impending global T20I carnival.

The team features a near-perfect blend of youth and experience, with seasoned players like Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman also constituting the Bangladesh squad.


BCB put up strong 15-member T20 WC 2024 squad

On May 14, the BCB announced their 15-player squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the United States. Najmul Hossain Shanto is set to continue as Bangladesh skipper, while Taskin Ahmed will be reprising his role as the vice-captain of the team in the tournament.

Senior players like Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar among others also found their names among Bangladesh’s 15-player travelling group. Here is a look at Bangladesh’s entire squad for the T20 World Cup 2024:

The Bangladesh cricket team is placed in Group D of the 2024 T20 World Cup alongside Netherlands, Nepal, South Africa and perennial arch-rivals Sri Lanka. 

Under the leadership of Najmul Hossain Shanto, they are slated to commence their quest for the coveted trophy with a match against Sri Lanka. The much-awaited contest will be staged at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas on June 8.

The Bangladesh team will be expected to depart for the USA later this month.
