In a shocking turn of events, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has decided to return to Dhaka in the middle of the World Cup. The all-rounder, who is not having a great campaign in India, came home to practice with his childhood coach, Najmul Abedin Fahim, as revealed by many reputed sources, including bdcrictime.com.

Shakib has not been playing at his best in the current World Cup in India, with scores of 14, 1, 40, and 1 speaking volumes. The all-rounder has not made any standout impact with the ball as well, and hence, he decided to go back to Dhaka in the middle of a showpiece event.

With just one victory and four defeats, Bangladesh are placed at the bottom of the points table in the World Cup. They will next play the Netherlands on Saturday (October 28), and Shakib is expected to rejoin the team before they face the Dutch side.

During the 2019 World Cup, Shakib demonstrated why he is considered the best all-rounder in limited-overs cricket. He hasn't been living up to his lofty standards this time around, so a break might help him to get back on track, who knows.
