The occurrence of miscommunication on cricket fields is nothing new for spectators, but when it occurs between two players who often share close friendships off and on the field, it becomes a topic of conversation. Similarly, an incident happened on Wednesday (October 25) during Australia’s World Cup clash against the Netherlands.

And the two legendary figures from Australia, David Warner and Steve Smith were having a heated discussion, which took the spotlight.

It all happened when Warner, batting on 32 off 35 balls, played Colin Ackermann towards the leg side for a single. While Warner was ready to take a single, Smith kept on watching the ball. As a result, both of them were at the non-strikers’ end at one point, and it seemed like their partnership was about to get over in a hilarious way.

Fortunately, it didn't happen. Warner came all the way back to the crease after a Dutch fumbled, giving him a crucial lifeline.

Warner was not pleased with Smith’s ball-watching. He seemed angry with him, and made a gesture which suggested, ‘What was that?’
