In a groundbreaking development, Pakistan's head coach Gary Kirsten and his deputy, ex-allrounder Azhar Mahmood, have accused ace speedster Shaheen Afridi of lobbying and misbehaving in their recent report following the team's horrendous T20 World Cup campaign.

Shaheen Afridi involved in lobbying: Report

According to Pakistan's leading news outlet, Samaa News, Kirsten and Mahmood have made serious allegations on the experienced seamer.

As per the report, the coaches found Shaheen's behaviour inappropriate during the Men in Green's T20I assignments against Ireland and Pakistan.

As no action was taken against the fast bowler, his misconduct continued even during the World Cup, affecting the dressing room atmosphere during the marquee event. As the report claims, Afridi was also involved in lobbying.

"Shaheen Afridi from the Ireland T20I series, England T20I series and the T20 World Cup 2024, has been accused of bad behaviour by Gary Kirsten and Azhar Mahmood. No action was taken against the pacer and he continued to misbehave and has also been accused of lobbying," the report stated.

Shaheen's roller-coaster ride & current turmoil in PCB

After Babar Azam stepped down as captain, Shaheen succeeded him in the shortest format, only to be replaced by his predecessor before the T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, after Pakistan suffered a group-stage exit from the showpiece event, the PCB sacked Abdul Razzaq and Wahab Riaz from the national selection committee as a part of the operation clean-up.
