Indian spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal and England white-ball skipper, Jos Buttler have had a special bond since their time together at Rajasthan Royals. However, with the IPL 2025 mega auction around the corner, RR made as massive call to release both of them, which left fans wondering if they’ll find a way back to the same team or go head-to-head as rivals next season.

Yuzvendra Chahal Posts Emotional Message For Jos Buttler

Yuzvendra Chahal took to social media on Friday, November 8, to share a heartfelt message for Buttler. Posting a video filled with fun memories, he wrote,

“In 2022, I knew him as Jos Buttler. In 2024, he’s my Jos bhai. Loved every day being around you, and only a few people know what you’ve done for me. Thank you for always standing by me. Hopefully, on some evening at 7:30 PM, we both get to open the batting together.”

The post quickly caught fans’ attention, with many feeling the bittersweet vibe of their farewell.

Rajasthan’s New Look for IPL 2025

Along with Chahal and Jos Buttler, RR has also decided to release some other big names like Ravichandran Ashwin and Trent Boult. But they’ve chosen to keep their core group: Sanju Samson (₹18 crore), Yashasvi Jaiswal (₹18 crore), Riyan Parag (₹14 crore), Dhruv Jurel (₹14 crore), Shimron Hetmyer (₹11 crore), and Sandeep Sharma (₹4 crore). The releases may be surprising, but it looks like RR is going for a fresh start.

Chahal’s Brilliant Run with Rajasthan

Meanwhile, since joining Rajasthan Royals in 2022 for ₹6.5 crore, Chahal has been on fire. He grabbed the Purple Cap with 27 wickets in his debut season, followed by another 21 and 18 in the seasons after.

In just 46 games with the Royals, he snagged 66 wickets, just one short of Shane Watson’s 67, making him one of RR’s top wicket-takers.

Now fans are left to wonder where Chahal and Buttler will go next. Whether they end up playing together or against each other, one thing’s for sure, their bond at RR will be remembered for a long time.
