Former India cricketer Amit Mishra ended up talking about the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by mistake after a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2025. But his ex-teammate, Virender Sehwag, didn’t let it slide and gave him a funny yet sharp reminder.
What Happened During The Live Session?
During a live chat on Cricbuzz after the SRH vs MI match, the host asked Amit Mishra if SRH still had a chance to qualify for the playoffs. Instead of answering about SRH, Mishra started talking about CSK and MS Dhoni.
"I think it's almost impossible. The brand of cricket they are playing right now, it will be hard to win all six matches. For that, they would have to do well in all departments. If Dhoni comes to bat up the order, he needs to play at least 30 balls, with all due to respect to their top order," he said.
But before he could say more, Sehwag jumped in and said: "The question was about SRH, not Dhoni or CSK."
Mishra quickly apologised and laughed it off, saying it was Dhoni’s powerful presence that made him talk about CSK without thinking. Sehwag added: “It’s all because of Dhoni’s aura”.
SRH’s Struggle Continues In IPL 2025
SRH are having a tough time this season. After losing to MI, they’ve only won 2 out of 8 matches and are stuck near the bottom of the table. During their previous IPL match against Mumbai Indians, SRH collapsed to 35 for 5, and even though Abhinav Manohar and Heinrich Klaasen helped them reach a decent total, they failed to win the match. Hardik Pandya's MI won the match by 7 wickets in Hyderabad.
Interestingly, SRH’s next match is against CSK in Chennai. And just like SRH, CSK is also struggling badly this season. They’ve lost five games in a row and are at the bottom of the points table with just 4 points.
Even though MS Dhoni is back as captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad got injured, the team is low on confidence. It will be interesting to see, who ends up on the winning side this time.
