Sanju Samson after injury (Source: @ESPNcricinfo/X.com)
Sanju Samson, the designated Rajasthan Royals skipper for IPL 2025 is all set to miss his third consecutive game of the season according to myKhel. He has a tear on his side, near the abdomen area, and will miss the clash against GT on Monday. In his absence, Riyan Parag will lead RR against Shubman Gill's boys.
Samson's Injury Creates More Trouble For Struggling Rajasthan Royals
The 18th edition of IPL is turning out to be a difficult season for RR and Sanju Samson. The wicketkeeper batter came into the season with finger injury, and played as a pure batter in the initial three matches. He then led RR in the next few games, but injured himself while batting against DC in Delhi, and has since not played any part in the league.
RR's campaign too has hit a roadblock, and they have choked on three consecutive occasions in the run chase. They have just two wins out of the nine matches this season, and need to win all their matches to stand an outside chance of making it to the playoffs. In this context, Samson's absence has created more problems for RR, and they need their young brigade to step up.
RR's Young Brigade Eye Comeback After Series Of Heartbreaks
Vaibhav Suryavanshi will continue to open with Yashasvi Jaiswal and the 14-year-old would be hoping to kick on and get a big score in his third game of IPL. However, Vaibhav and young RR unit are up against a in-form team, GT, and it won't be an easy game for the inaugural champions.
The match will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, and it would be interesting to see how RR bounce back after consecutive heartbreaks.
