Bayliss-Bangar Era Comes To an End

The Bayliss-Bangar era of Kings came to an end after a tough season. Bayliss replaced the head coach after IPL 2022, while Bangar joined the franchise in December 2023. Yet again, they failed to make improvements, ending up eighth in 2023 and ninth the previous season in a continued struggle to seal that elusive title.

Bangar's association with Kings started in 2014, when he was head coach until 2016, after which he became assistant coach for India. Thereafter, he was batting consultant for the Royal Challengers Bangalore before he became head coach. Again, in December 2023, he returned to Kings but could not alter the team's fortunes.

Bayliss replaced Anil Kumble, who headed the franchise from 2020 to 2022. Kings have frequently changed coaches over the past decade in a bid to find a successful formula.
