Sports presenter and star cricketer Jasprit Bumrah's wife, Sanjana Ganesan recently recalled the moment when her husband received a lavish gift basket from a gracious Shaheen Afridi back in September 2023.
Currently in USA for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, Sanjana Ganesan reflected Shaheen’s gesture of goodwill while speaking on The Grade Cricketer on June 7.
When asked to give her take on the intense nature of IND vs PAK cricket rivalry and the off-field dynamic between players of both nations, she revealed that Afridi’s gift basket featured a bunch of gifts which her son Angad still utilizes.
Sanjana praises Shaheen’s gesture ahead of IND vs PAK
During the 2023 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka back in September 2023, Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi handed out a lavish gift basket to his Indian counterpart Jasprit Bumrah, considering the latter had just become a father to a newborn child with wife and prominent sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan.
In July 2024, i.e., during the 2024 T20 World Cup in USA and a day prior to India’s highly-anticipated Group A match against Pakistan, Sanjana Ganesan recalled memories of Shaheen Afridi’s gesture of goodwill while speaking about the intense cricketing rivalry and the off-field dynamics shared by players of the two nations.
Appearing on The Grade Cricketer’s YouTube channel, she said:“Shaheen actually gave us a lovely gift basket during the Asia Cup, it wasn't just one gift, there was a bunch of stuff in there for Angad that he still uses.”

Both Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi are currently in New York gearing up to face each other in a crucial Group A match of the T20 World Cup 2024.
The much-awaited contest will be staged at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 9 and the action will commence from 8:00 PM IST onwards.
