Rohit Sharma, the regular Indian Test skipper has left for Australia to join Indian team for the all-important Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He missed the first Test due the birth of his second child, as he wanted to spend some time with his family. He is now ready to roll though and will join the Indian team in Perth that is currently involved in the opening Test at the Optus Stadium.

Rohit Sharma's non-availability for the first Test became a big issue and their was mystery on his pariticipation in the opening game even after the birth of his child. He was also seen doing his batting drills and working on his fitness in Mumbai, and he is now all set to lead India from the second Test that will be played in Adelaide from 6th of December.

India Dominate Perth Test In Absence Of Rohit Sharma

In Rohit's absence, India have done well though. They made a strong comeback both with the ball and bat after getting bowled out for just 150 and Jasprit Bumrah led from the front with a five-wicket haul. KL Rahul opened for India in the absence of Rohit Sharma and along with Yashasvi Jaiswal has led India's strong reply with the bat. The duo notched up a record-breaking opening stand of 201 runs, and Rohit Sharma would be hoping that his boys come up with a historic victory and make his job easier when he leads them in the rest of the series.
