Rohit Sharma unlocked a couple of major ODI landmarks to star in India’s comprehensive win over South Africa in the third ODI. Pat Cummins has confirmed his return to the Australian team for the third Test of the 2025-26 Ashes series. In other news, Abhishek Sharma has become the first Indian cricketer in history to hit 100 T20 sixes in a single year.

Rohit Sharma achieves major ODI SENA record as India beats SA
Legendary Indian opener Rohit Sharma bludgeoned 75 off just 73 balls with seven fours and three huge sixes against South Africa in the third ODI of the three-match series in Vizag. Through the course of his match-winning knock, the former Indian captain also completed 5,000 runs in ODIs as an opener against SENA nations, becoming only the second cricketer in the world after Sachin Tendulkar to do so.
Rohit Sharma further completed 20,000 runs in international cricket, thus becoming only the fourth Indian player to reach the landmark figure.
Quinton de Kock charts landmark ODI ton vs India
South African opener Quinton de Kock smeared 106 runs off just 89 balls for his team against India early in the third ODI of the three-match series. While the innings marked Quinton’s 23rd ODI century, it also marked his seventh ODI ton against Team India. With his latest triple-figure score, Quiton de Kock has now levelled with former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya in terms of scoring most ODI centuries against the Indian cricket team, thus going past AB de Villiers and Ricky Ponting (six each).
Abhishek Sharma becomes first India to hit 100 T20 sixes in a year
Punjab opener Abhishek Sharma rained down 62 runs off 34 balls with eight fours and three huge sixes against Services in Hyderabad in their Elite Group C match of the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season. Through his latest blitzkrieg, the youngster has now completed 100 T20 sixes in the year 2025 so far, becoming the first Indian cricketer in history to do so in a single calendar year.
Abhishek Sharma struck 47 of those sixes for India in T20Is, and another 28 for the SRH franchise in IPL 2025, apart from hitting 26 in the ongoing SMAT 2025-26 season.
Justin Greaves and Roach ensure WI make record fourth innings total vs NZ
West Indies held on to a fighting draw against New Zealand in the first Test of the three-match series in Christchurch on Day 5. Chasing an improbable 531 and resuming the innings on the last day at 212-4, West Indies reached 457-6 in 163.3 overs, thus marking the second-highest fourth innings total in the history of Test cricket.
Justin Greaves top-scored in the innings with a courageous 202*, while fast bowler Kemar Roach washed up 233 balls to score 58* as the two cricketers shared a record 180-run partnership for the seventh wicket by batting out nearly 70 overs together.
Pat Cummins confirms Ashes return in third Test
Australian captain Pat Cummins has seemingly confirmed his availability for the third Test of the ongoing 2025-26 Ashes series against England, starting December 17 onwards at the Adelaide Oval. The cricketer was forced to miss the first two Tests of the series owing to his back injury. Cummins has now confirmed his recovery and said he is “good to go” in the third Test to take over his leadership duties from stand-in skipper Steve Smith.
