Abhishek Sharma most searched athlete in Pakistan; Suryavanshi tops list in India in 2025

2025 is all set to bid adieu, and the new year is just 25 days away. It has been a wonderful year for sports fans, filled with events. Talking about cricket, the year had IPL, Champions Trophy, Asia Cup and several memorable moments such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's long-awaited return. 

As the year comes to an end, Google has released a list of the 'most searched athletes' of the year, and it features some interesting names.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi - most searched player in India

The 14-year-old wonderkid is refusing to stop, and his fan base is on a different level. It has been a year to remember for Vaibhav Suryavanshi as he made his debut for the Rajasthan Royals and took the league by storm. 

Suryavanshi slammed the fastest century in the league and is now the most-searched athlete on Google India. After Suryavanshi, Punjab Kings' Priyansh Arya is second on the list. Abhishek Sharma is third on the list, followed by Sheikh Rasheed and Jemimah Rodriguez.

Abhishek Sharma - Most searched name in Pakistan

Interestingly, if we shift our focus towards the neighbouring country, then India opener Abhishek Sharma is the most searched athlete in Pakistan. 

For the unversed, Abhishek was the star during the Pakistan games in the Asia Cup and wreaked havoc against the Men in Green. Sharma was at the top while Hasan Nawaz, Irfan Khan, and Sahibzada Farhan were 2nd, 3rd, and fourth, respectively.

Punjab Kings dominate the global search

If we look at Google across the World, then the Punjab Kings were the most searched team from India, and overall, they were placed fourth on the list. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants followed them.

Notably, Punjab were just behind PSG, Benfica and Toronto Blues.
