Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma lit up Vizag with a blazing knock of 75 off 73 balls in the third ODI against South Africa. In the process, he shattered multiple records to re-establish his authority as premier opener.

Chasing 271, Rohit came out to bat alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal but started cautiously. Both openers scored 42 runs in the first powerplay but switched gears in the middle overs.

In his flashy knock, Rohit Sharma scored 75 runs off just 73 balls with seven fours and three sixes. He had a 155-run opening partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal and set the tone for India’s comfortable chase.

Meanwhile, Rohit’s knock was special, as it shattered multiple records.

  • 505- third-most 4s in India in ODIs. He is behind Sachin (811) and Virat Kohli (620).
