The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) played a punt and have replaced the outgoing Lungi Ngidi with Zimbabwean star pacer, Blessing Muzarabani for the remainder of the tournament. Ngidi will leave the IPL after the league stage to prepare for the WTC finale and hence, RCB made this interesting call.

Plus, there are doubts on the arrival of Josh Hazlewood, who went back to Australia after the league was suspended and hasn't joined the RCB camp as of yet. The tall seamer has been a blessing for Zimbabwe and also has dismissed several Indian IPL stars at international level.

List of Indian IPL stars dismissed by Muzarabani

Rohit Sharma, the former India T20I captain was dismissed by Muzarabani during the T20 World Cup in 2022 as the Zimbabwean pacer peppered him with a short-pitched ball.

Both Gaikwad and Shubman Gill were dismissed twice by the RCB pacer during India's last T20I series against Zimbabwe at their own backyard. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma were also his victims during the last T20I tour as the bowler showed his class against a quality Indian batting lineup.

Why Muzarabani was bought by RCB?

The Chinnaswamy Stadium surface has some considerable bounce and Muzarabani is a master in extracting the bounce and he could do the same against the opposition teams. Plus, Andy Flower, the head coach of RCB is the major factor in his recruitment.

The duo have worked together in ILT20 and other leagues and the head coach knows the quality of the lanky pacer.
