GT Thrash DC; Join Hands With RCB, PBKS To Qualify For IPL 2025 Playoffs

The inevitable happened and the Gujarat Titans made a mockery of the Delhi Capitals bowling attack to thrash them and qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs. GT needed 200 runs to win the contest and their ever-dependant duo of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan made light work of the total.

Both the batters looked at their imperial best as the victory against DC takes GT to 18 points, with 9 wins out of 12. However, GT's win not only helps their cause, but also changes the fortunes of RCB, and PBKS as well.

How RCB, PBKS benefit from GT's win

GT's win not only secures their passage to the playoffs, but it also helped RCB and PBKS to qualify as well. GT have 18 points, while RCB and PBKS have 17 points each with superion net run-rates and hence, they, too qualify for the playoffs.

Now, the three teams will fight for the top 2 spot with two games remaining for all three of them. DC, on the other hand have 13 points and need to win their remaining two matches and even that might not be enough for them to qualify due to their poor net run-rate.

What about MI's chances?

MI have a simple task - win two games remaining and qualify for the playoffs. Currently, the team has 14 points and two victories will take them to 18 points, seemingly taking them through to the playoffs. However, one loss and a win could hamper their chances of qualification.

The MI Vs DC game on May 21 could potentially decide the 4th team which will qualify for the IPL playoffs.
