Rohit Sharma, one of India's finest white-ball cricketers, has not played for India since the Champions Trophy 2025. He has retired from T20Is and Test cricket, and there are rumours that he might leave ODI cricket as well.

However, now on his official Instagram handle, the Indian superstar has posted two photos. In the first of those photos, the cricket is seen padding up, and it seems that he is practising in the MI setup with the logo of the franchise behind.
The other photo shows him running, and the cricketer clearly seems to be getting ready for India's next ODI assignment. There is no caption on the post, but there is a high probability that he would lead India during the three-match ODI series against Australia in October.

The cricketer has been in great form in ODIs for the last few years and has shifted to an aggressive brand of cricket, which has helped the team. Under his leadership, India dominated the World Cup 2023 and finished as runners-up, while they won the T20 World Cup 2024.
Recently, India won the Champions Trophy 2025 as well under Rohit Sharma, and fans would be hoping that he leads the country in the 2027 ODI World Cup as well. The cricket has also worked on his fitness and according to reports, he has lost 8 KG and has recorded a score of 19.4 in the Yo-Yo Test.
Thus, the positive signs from Rohit Sharma in the last month or so indicate that he is not going anywhere and would play for India till the 2027 ODI World Cup. He was last seen playing for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, where he scored 418 runs at a strike rate of close to 150.
