India’s ODI skipper Rohit Sharma has set alarm bells ringing after being spotted at a Mumbai hospital late on Monday night. The 38-year-old was seen quietly making his way into the facility while paparazzi fired questions at him, but the Hitman stayed tight-lipped.

Rohit Sharma Seen At Hospital Weeks Before Australia Series

With no word on why he was there, fans have been left praying for his good health. The sight of Rohit Sharma walking into Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai unaccompanied sent the rumour mill buzzing. Dressed casually, he kept his head down, ignoring the cameras.

Social media was soon buzzing with messages of concern with supporters hoping it’s nothing serious. After all, Rohit remains India’s most trusted leader in the one-day format.

Rohit’s Current Training Routine

Before this hospital episode, Rohit had been sweating it out in Mumbai under the watchful eyes of former India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. He even took part in a fitness test at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru alongside several teammates. Those sessions were seen as key steps in his preparation for the challenges ahead.

Asia Cup Without The Hitman

While Suryakumar Yadav is leading India’s T20I squad in the Asia Cup 2025 kicking off today in the UAE, Rohit is missing from action. Having already hung up his boots in Tests and T20Is, he is now a one-format player. His return to international cricket is likely to come during the ODI series against Australia later this year.

There is also chatter that Rohit could turn up for India A in a three-match one-day series against Australia A in Kanpur between September 30 and October 5. If that happens, it would give him valuable match practice before the big tour Down Under.

It is worth mentioning that Rohit’s last international match came in the Champions Trophy 2025 final, where he played a captain’s knock. His 76 off 83 balls guided India to victory over New Zealand, a performance that earned him the player-of-the-match award and added yet another feather to his cap.

For now, fans can only wait for clarity on Rohit’s hospital visit. Until then, prayers and good wishes continue to pour in for the Hitman. After all, when Rohit Sharma is at the crease, India feels safer and the team will need him firing on all cylinders when the big battles Down Under arrive.
