Rishad Hossain, the 23-year-old Bangladesh spinner, has got a full No Objection Certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the upcoming BBL 15 season. Hossain, who was roped in by Hobart Hurricanes this season, has clashes with BPL commitments as BBL also takes place during the same time frame.

In the previous season, Hossain was not granted an NOC, however, this time, the spinner gets full NOC from BCB as the board neglected his bPL commitments.

BCB in-charge confirms NOC for Rishad Hossain

BCB's Cricket Operations in-charge, Shahriar Nafees, confirmed that Rishad has been granted full NOC to appear in the Big Bash League 2025. As for the date clash, BBL is going to start from December 14 and will continue till January 25. Notably, the Bangladesh Premier League is also set to begin on the tentative date of December 19, where Rishad is unlikely to participate.

Rishad is now the second player to participate in the BBL after Shakib Al Hasan, who last played for Bangladesh on January 19, 2015.

Hossain has played PSL besides his home cricket league BPL, where he impressed with 13 wickets from his seven outings for Lahore Qalandars in the 2025 edition. He had an economy rate of 9.33 in the tournament as he boasted the best figures of 3/26.

Ponting lauds Hossain's talent

Rishad Hossain was picked by Hurricanes Head of Strategy Ricky Ponting, who lauded the young spinner's talent.

"He's (Hossain) someone that's an out-and-out wicket-taking bowler. Talking to Nathan Ellis (Hobart Hurricanes captain) through the course of last year, he was desperate for a spin-bowler to take wickets through the middle of the innings. That's what leg-spinners do. If you look at Rishad's record, it's amazing," Ponting said.

With Rishad Hossain's recent stats backing him for a great T20I outing since he boasts figures of 3/43, 2/20, and 3/54, the Bangladesh spinner looks to conquer the franchise forts overseas.
