The ongoing 50-over series between Pakistan and South Africa is keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. After Pakistan’s thrilling win in the opener, South Africa fought back to level the series, setting up an exciting contest ahead.

In the second ODI of the series, Pakistan’s batting brilliance stole the show, but the Proteas took away the victory with dominance. Skipper Shaheen Afridi praised his team’s fighting spirit and vowed a stronger comeback in the next clash.

Shaheen applauds Agha-Ayub’s stunning partnership

While batting first in the match, the Protea bowler hit hard as the Men in Green lost three wickets in just 22 runs. Standing at that point, they needed a partnership, and Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha stepped in. Tightening their grips, both batters completed a half-century and stitched a game-changing 92-run partnership.

On that crucial point, that remarkable gave a huge boost to Pakistan’s total. Despite the heartbreaking loss, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi praised their outstanding performance.

“I think Saim and Agha played really well. Their partnership helped us establish. We lost three wickets early, after which we thought 270 will be a good score,” he said.

Pakistan aim to bounce back stronger

Even after Pakistan put on a formidable total on the board, Quinton de Kock’s spectacular hundred and Tony de Zorzi’s outstanding knock propelled South Africa towards a magnificent win. While a few fielding lapses added to Pakistan’s woes, skipper Shaheen Afridi vowed to lead the team back stronger in the next clash.

“But we dropped three catches. We will come back well. We will be stronger in the next game,” he added.

After South Africa’s recent 8-wicket victory against the Men in Green, the three-match ODI series is level at 1-1. With the decider set for November 8, both teams are gearing up for a thrilling clash to claim the series
