Bangladesh lost opening batter Saif Hassan for just six to Akeal Hosein in the fifth over of the game. Soumya Sarkar compiled 45 off 89 balls with three boundaries and a six to top-score in the innings. Bangladesh’s middle-order, however, crumbled in the middle overs as neither Towhid Hridoy, Najmul Hossain Shanto nor Mahidul Islam Ankon managed to maximise their starts. Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz crafted a cunning 32* off 58 balls, and Nurul Hasan chipped in with a run-a-ball 23.

Rishad Hossain blasted 39* off just 14 balls at the death to fire Bangladesh to 213-7 in 50 overs of a rare spin-only innings. For the West Indies, Gudakesh Motie picked up three wickets for 65, while Akeal Hosein and Alick Athanaze chipped in with two wickets each.

Keacy Carty made 35 at number three, while opener Alick Athanaze scored 28 off 42 before both cricketers were trapped in front by Rishad Hossain. Captain Shai Hope compiled 53* off 67 balls to score the lone half-century of the game.

Justin Greaves and Akeal Hosein composed crucial runs in the decisive overs, but a topsy-turvy final over yielded a thrilling tie. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain claimed tight figures of 3-42.

West Indies won the resultant Super Over, with Akeal Hosein defending 11 runs despite his wayward start.
