Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of cricketing action for six weeks after he sustained a nasty foot injury on Day 1 of India’s fourth Test of the series against England at Old Trafford. The announcement was made ahead of Day 2 of the match, with Dhruv Jurel to don the wicketkeeping gloves in the final two matches of the series instead.
While initial reports indicated that Ishan Kishan will be joining the Indian squad as a cover-up for injured Rishabh Pant, another report indicated that the Indian team management will be calling up Narayan Jagadeesan to join the squad ahead of the final Test.

Indian spinners Shreyanka Patil and Priya Mishra have been ruled out of India A Women squad for the upcoming tour of Australia. Both cricketers have sustained injuries, prompting the selection committee to include Dhara Gujjar and Prema Rawat in the squad instead. The India A Women team is scheduled to Australia next month. Under the leadership of Radha Yadav, the India A Women team will be facing Australia in a series of three T20s, three 50-overs matches and one four-day match between August 7 and August 24.

The iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will likely be banned from hosting matches in the IPL 2026 season next year. As reported by Deccan Herald, the venue has been declared unfit for hosting big events or high-octane cricket matches in the aftermath of the deadly stampede that took place there last month. Hosting RCB’s IPL 2025 winning celebration ceremony a day after the final, a stampede broke out near the gate which took the lives of 11 people and injured over 70 others on June 4.
