In the latest development around Indian cricket, star keeper-batter Rishabh Pant is all set to return to domestic cricket after 7 years. According to a report from PTI, Pant is all set to feature in Delhi's squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Saurashtra in Rajkot on January 23.

Following the series defeat against Australia in the recently concluded BGT, the Indian batters were under criticism for their poor show. Thus, the management had urged every star to return to the Ranji Trophy to get back in form.

Similarly, the DDCA had urged Virat Kohli and Pant to also play Ranji Trophy. Meanwhile, Pant has obliged to that request and has followed Gambhir's advice to play domestic cricket.

Rishabh Pant has confirmed that he will be available for selection for Delhi’s Ranji Trophy game against Saurashtra in Rajkot,” DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma told The Indian Express.

Virat Kohli Fails To Revert To DDCA On His Availability

It is worth noting that earlier on Tuesday, DDCA's probable squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy round circulated online, and it featured the likes of Virat Kohli, Pant, and Harshit Rana.

While Pant is all set to play Ranji Trophy, there is still no update on Virat Kohli as the DDCA chairman remarked that they haven't heard from the RCB batter.

However, Harshit won't be available for selection as he has been selected for the upcoming T20I squad against England starting on January 22.

Similar to Pant, several other Indian stars are on course to get their basics right and are looking to play Ranji Trophy. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rohit Sharma are all likely to play Ranji Trophy. Meanwhile, Pant's latest Ranji Trophy appearance was in the 2017-18 final against Vidarbha.
