In the latest development around Indian cricket, Sanju Samson has dealt a heavy blow as there are reports that the RR skipper is likely to be left out of India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad because of disciplinary actions. According to a report from Times Now, Samson, who is a part of India's T20I squad against England for the upcoming series, will not be picked for the prestigious fifty-over event.

The report mentioned that the BCCI is not happy with Sanju because he decided to skip the Vijay Hazare Trophy, a premier fifty-over tournament organised by the BCCI. Irrespective of the disciplinary action, Samson's place in the squad is in danger as he is facing tough competition from Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.

Further, the report mentioned that the BCCI is likely to go ahead with Rishabh Pant as their specialised keeper and KL Rahul is set to be part of the squad as a specialised batter.

Sanju Samson A Key Star for India In Upcoming T20Is vs England

Sanju Samson had a great 2024 with India in the shortest format of the match. It is worth noting that Samson had slammed 3 centuries last year, the most in a single year by an Indian. Given Samson's form, it was hard to ignore him for the T20Is.

It is worth noting that India will face England for a five-match T20I series starting on January 22. Following that, they will also play three ODIs, which will act as a dressing rehearsal for upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
