Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant - (Source:@Johns/X.com)
On Sunday, November 25, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer broke banks and became the two highest-paid players in IPL history. Notably, Iyer was bought by PBKS for 26.75 crores, and Pant went to LSG for a whopping 27 crores.
The internet was buzzing after they scripted history as they also became the first two players to break the 25-crore mark. Notably, the two broke Mitchell Starc's record of 23.75 crore salary he received during IPL 2024 with KKR.
But will Rishabh and Shreyas Iyer earn 27 and 26.75 crores? It is worth noting that tax would be applied to these amounts and the players will get a deducted value that might shock the fans.
Rishabh Pant And Shreyas Iyer's Value After Tax Deduction?
It is worth noting that according to Indian Income tax rules, 8.1 crores will be deducted from Pant's IPL salary, and instead of 27 crores, he will earn just 18.9 crores.
Similarly, for Shreyas Iyer, he too will face a 30% tax deduction and will receive just 18,72,50,000.
Preity Zinta Talks About Tax Deduction In IPL Auction
After buying Shreyas Iyer in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Preity Zinta took to Instagram to post a cheeky remark, where she talked about the tax deduction following the auction.
"Well, hamesha aisa laga tha ki jo bhi IPL mein, it'll be record-breaking. Par 26 crore, yes socha tha (Sorry) 27 crore, Sorry Shreyas! Kuch toh tax mein katega." (It always felt like whatever happens in the IPL, will be record-breaking. But 26 crore, yes I sort of thought. Something will be deducted in tax.)
It is worth noting that both Shreyas and Pant were released by their franchise ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction.
