The two-day mega-event of the IPL 2025 mega auction came to an end on Monday night. The ten franchises spent over 639 crores over 2 days for 184 players. It is worth noting that several India's star players, who are currently featuring against Australia in Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, too underwent the hammer.
It has been a roller-coaster ride for Indian players in the past two days as many saw a massive hike in salary, while a few dealt with heartbreak. Let's take a look at the IPL salary of Indian players who featured in the first Test against Australia.
1. KL Rahul - 14 Crores (Delhi Capitals)
Rahul underwent the hammer on day 1 of the auction, and surprisingly, he suffered a dip from his previous salary and was bought by Delhi Capitals for 14 crores.
2. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 18 Crores (Rajasthan Royals)
Jaiswal did not go under the hammer at the IPL auction and was retained by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the auction. The inaugural champions chose Jaiswal as their first retention for 18 crore.
3. Devdutt Padikkal - 2 Crores (RCB)
Padikkal, who had a dismal first Test against Australia, was first unsold in the recently concluded auction. However, RCB picked him up in the accelerated round of the auction on day 2 at his base price of 2 crores.
4. Virat Kohli - 21 Crores (RCB)
Similar to Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat too did not go under the hammer in the auction and was retained by RCB for a whopping 21 crores. It is the highest salary in his IPL career.
5. Rishabh Pant - 27 Crores (LSG)
Rishabh Pant was the star at the IPL 2025 auction as he went for a whopping 27 crores. Pant, who was released by DC, became the highest-paid player in the history of IPL after Lucknow Super Giants roped him for the coming seasons.
6. Dhruv Jurel - 14 Crores (RR)
Jurel too was a hot commodity even before the IPL began as Rajasthan Royals showed trust in him and exceeding everyone's expectations, retained him for 14 crores.
7. Nitish Reddy - 6 crores (SRH)
Reddy, who shone in his Test debut, was retained by SRH for 6 crores even before the auction began, as he did well for the franchise in IPL 2024 and was one of their best players.
8. Washington Sundar - 3.20 Crores (GT)
Sundar was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction and found a new house in Gujarat Titans as the Shubman Gill-led side availed Sundar's services for 3.20 crores.
9. Harshit Rana - 4 Crores (KKR)
Rana, who made his India debut, was retained by KKR for four crores. Luckily for the Knight Riders, Rana did not make his debut before October 31, which allowed them to retain him for four crores.
10. Jasprit Bumrah - 18 Crore (MI)
Arguably, the best bowler in the world in modern times, he was Mumbai Indians' top retention for 18 crores, his highest-ever salary in his IPL career.
11. Mohammed Siraj - 12.25 Crore (GT)
Siraj dealt a heartbreak ahead of IPL 2025 after RCB released him to go under the hammer. Nonetheless, Gujarat Titans went after him and bought him for a whopping 12.25 crores for IPL 2025.
