The World Cup 2023 has come to a rude end for Indian fans and the focus has now shifted to the upcoming 2024 edition of the IPL. Numerous news are floating regarding replacement and trading of players ahead of the auction and one of those big news is the possible trading of Harshal Patel with Shardul Thakur

Harshal Patel has been an integral part of RCB's setup from the 2021 edition and was the Purple cap holder with 32 wickets in just 15 matches. However, his fortunes dwindled in the 2023 edition, and ended up taking 14 wickets in 13 matches at an economy rate of 9.66. Shardul Thakur, on the other hand, was traded to KKR just before the 2023 edition by Delhi Capitals but failed big time.

So, both teams seems to have decided to part ways with their respective bowling all-rounders and if it turns out to be true, this is surely a bold move ahead of the auction scheduled on 19th of December.

Interestingly, both were bought by their respective franchises at a whopping price of 10.75 crore, which makes their trade swap quite an easy affair. Shardul Thakur was recently part of the Indian squad in World Cup 2023 and he can surely add value to the RCB setup with his clever bowling and explosive batting in the lower middle order.

As far as KKR is concerned, they have not been able to qualify for the playoffs in the last two edition and seem to be looking for a major overhaul, as they have brought in Gautam Gambhir as a Mentor ahead of the much-awaited 2024 edition of the IPL.
