The rumours around KL Rahul playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025 are going rounds in the cricketing world. He led the new franchise Lucknow Super Kings from IPL 2022, but there is doubt over his continuation with LSG after they failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2024. So, there are reports that KL Rahul will return to his home-state franchise and lead them in the next season with RCB looking at captaincy options to succeed Faf du Plessis.

The reports have created excitement among RCB fans as KL Rahul is a local player and given his quality as a batter and international experience, they feel that he would be a great asset for the team. RCB have not won a single IPL season so far, but their fans are known for their passion, and in a short video going rounds on social media, they are seen urging RCB management to buy KL Rahul for the next season.

KL Rahul Played For RCB In 2013 And 2016 Seasons

KL Rahul made his IPL debut back in 2013 for RCB. In the next two years he played for SRH before comeing back to RCB for IPL 2016. It was a productive season for Rahul, but he missed the 2017 season due to an injury and from 2018 to 2021, he was part of Punjab Kings. The stylish batter then decided to take over the leadership of LSG from the 2022 season and after spending three years with the franchise, he might come back to RCB as captain after nine years.

LSG Owner Gives Mixed Signals About KL Rahul's Future

Also, KL Rahul recently met Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of Lucknow Super Giants amid rumours of differences between the two. During IPL 2024, a video went viral where Goenka was seen lecturing KL Rahul with great intensity after LSG's loss and since then there have been speculations that KL will leave the franchise. Though the owner refuted any claims of differences between the two, he was still non-committal about KL's future with LSG, which has raised hopes of RCB fans that they would see their local hero leading the team in IPL 2025.
