[Watch] Faf Du Plessis' Flying Effort In CPL 2024 Goes In Vain As He Fails To Grab A One-Handed Catch
Faf du Plessis in CPL 2024 (X.com)
Faf du Plessis is now 40 years old, but is still going strong in franchise cricket. His batting, leadership skills and even his fielding has not been affected due to his age, and his standards have always grabbed the attention of fans around the world. In the CPL 2024, he is leading Saint Lucia Kings and in the 14th match of the season, he had an opportunity to leave upto his billing of a world-class fielder when a catch came along his way at the extra-cover region.
It was the second delivery of the 17th over and Fletcher was batting on 59. Alzarri Joseph, Faf du Plessis' RCB teammate was bowling and he bowled a full delivery, outside off. Fletcher tried to carve it over the in-field, but did not time it. The ball went aerially towards the extra cover region, and Faf du Plessis inside the circle there moved backward and jumped to grab it with his left hand.
He could not hold onto the catch though, but it was still a great effort which once again displayed the athleticism and commitment of Faf du Plessis.
Rilee Rossouw And Fletcher's Twin Fifties Take St Kitts And Nevis Patriots Over 170
Andre Fletcher though could not last long after that dropped catch, but he still played well and scored crucial 62 runs for his side. He held one end up when Lewis and Mayers could not do much with the bat. However, Rilee Rossouw's knock of 50 off just 31 balls provides the much-needed impetus to the innings and Patriots managed to cross the 170-run mark.
It is a good pitch to bat on though and Kings would be happy with their bowling effort with Alzarri Joseph ending with two wickets to his name.
